How Settings Work

Created by Frank Ziegler, Modified on Tue, 30 Dec at 4:29 PM by Frank Ziegler

Brokernote uses a Hierarchical Settings model to ensure brand consistency while allowing for individual preferences.

The Hierarchy Levels

  1. Default: The system comes with sensible defaults (e.g., standard margins, black text) out of the box.
  2. Organisation: These settings are configured by your Org Admin. They represent your "Company Brand". Organisation settings override system defaults.
  3. User: These are your personal settings. User settings can override Organisation settings ONLY IF the Admin allows it.

Example

  • Situation: Your Organisation Admin sets the company font to "Times New Roman" and locks this setting.
  • Result: Even if you prefer "Arial", your documents will be generated in "Times New Roman" because the Organisation setting takes precedence and overriding is disabled.
