Before you rely on an answer, check where it came from. The Assistant can show three kinds of source:
| Source | How it's shown |
|---|---|
| Your attachments | Ask for page numbers, clause numbers and quotes. The Assistant can link to the uploaded file. |
| Knowledge Base documents | A link to the source document. Click it to open or download it. |
| The web | Links to the web pages used. |
How to get references in your answer
Add a line like one of these to your prompt:
- "Quote the exact clause wording and give the page number for each point."
- "Cite which attached document each figure comes from."
- "Link the Knowledge Base document you used."
- "Include links to your sources."
Or ask after the answer: "Where in the PDS does it say that? Give me the clause and page."
Checking the reference
- Click the link, or open the document at the page quoted, and confirm the wording matches.
- If the Assistant can't find a source, ask it to say so. Add "If the documents don't answer this, say so rather than guessing."
AI can occasionally misquote or misremember. Treat references as a way to check quickly, not as a guarantee.
